Heart of the Home

Challenge Overview:  This client came to us with a need to completely re-align the footprints of several spaces in her new home, including the kitchen, primary bedroom, bathroom, and closet, as well as a home office space.  A lot of the existing space was very compartmentalized and broken up.

Process Overview: This client came into the design process with a plan!  She knew from the very beginning how she would like to have things, and we worked together closely to ensure that the end design result was a close to her vision as we could get it, within spatial, material, and budget constraints.

Customized Solution: To create the most open feel possible in the kitchen space, I wanted to try and keep all of the heavy cabinetry and appliance pieces relegated to one wall, to serve as the “anchor” wall within the room. Large pantries with roll trays, double ovens, a built-in refrigerator and microwave… Everything has a space within the wall. The back wall boasts a decorative wood hood, as well as a dry bar area with an under-cabinet refrigerator and a custom locking cabinet for liquor storage.  The white cabinets, with the navy blue island accent color, gives the space an open and inviting feel… With a fun and exciting pop of color!

In the primary bath area, the double vanity is separated by a tall linen tower for added vanity storage at the sinks.  A separate make up vanity area, situated next to the window which provides ample natural light when getting ready in the morning.  A tall linen cabinet was also provided to give additional storage space for linens, towels, and bathing necessities.  The shower boasts a built-in bench, as well as large in-wall niche.

Thoughts from the Client:  Devon was Very professional and easy to work with. She was attentive to what I wanted and adaptable as my design idea changed over time. I was provided recommendations on items to fit within my budget to create the ideal design for my space.

Overall, Devon was very responsive and resolved product defects/issues quickly. She was able to provided recommendations on how to handle external contractor issues and steps to resolve unfinished components of my project, that were beyond your initial scope. Timing expectations were set and met throughout the entire project. The entire process was easy with regular communication throughout. I never had to follow-up as you were very proactive in communicating status of delivery and contractor scheduling.
